Department of PaediatricsAttitude: 25% Punctuality & Attendance Enthusiasm Clinical Performance 60% Competence in taking appropriate history &physical examination Competence in diagnosis and management of common paediatrics conditions e.g.: bronchial asthma, pneumonia, GE, undescended testes, neonatal jaundice, common infections like chickenpox, rubella, measles, etc. Competence in diagnosis and management of less common but important conditions e.g.: meningitis, epiglottis, FTT, heart murmurs, etc. Competence in performing practical procedures e.g. use of PFM, venupuncture, APGAR score, bladder catheterization, developmental assessment, screening for CHD, etc Therapeutics: familiar with principals of prescribing as uniquely applicable to children Referral: recognize occasions when referral for hospital & or physiotherapy is indicated.
